1983 | BALTIMORE, maryland
history was made and the foundation was set…
Our first reunion was organized by Mamie and Daisy. After speaking on the porch one day they thought the family should gather for a reunion. The first location was Baltimore, MD and was well attended. There was food, music, dancing, and church service over the three day weekend. It was decided at this reunion that we would meet the first weekend in August every other year. The foundation of our reunion and format was established in 1983 and we are so proud to continue to the present day!
Each reunion is hosted by a reunion committee. The reunion location is voted on at the business meeting at each reunion. We have held our reunions in three major locations: Maryland, New Jersey and North Carolina.

RALPH A. STURDIVANT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
To invest in the future of our family members, a scholarship fund was established and is funded via our family dues. Scholarships are awarded at each reunion. Ralph Sturdivant, son of Charles Birl Sturdivant, was a strong supporter of our reunion and he emphasized the importance of education. After his untimely passing, the scholarship was named in his honor.

Sturdivant Family Cemetery
Richmond Sturdivant Sr. was a godly man who believed in instilling family values and passing on an inheritance to his family. He purchased a plot of land in Polkton, NC and established the Sturdivant family cemetery. We have many descendants and family members buried there. Your family dues help to maintain the land.
