The Charlotte committee hosted the family reunion in Concord, NC. The fun fact about this reunion was our original park location CANCELLED on us two days before the reunion! The committee prayed and was able to secure our reunion at a Senior Center. While we originally were nervous about the change, the new location worked out fantastic and we had a great time. We had outdoor space for games, indoor space for fellowship, a pool tournament, bingo and several breakout rooms for the kids (including a glamour salon)!
On Sunday, we celebrated our ancestors at our memorial service. We displayed all the obituaries of the Sturdivant children and we were blessed with a spiritual sermon by Carol Yard.
At this reunion, our dearly departed Azeal Sturdivant, son of Charles Birl Sturdivant, departed this life in his home state of Florida. Azeal was an avid supporter of the Sturdivant family reunion and we will surely miss his guidance, wisdom and leadership he gave to us for many years.
